         Sinalanta ng buhawi sa Talipapa area, Barangay Magsaysay, Parang, Maguindanao.

Cotabato City---Kinukumpuni na ngayon ng mga residente ng Barangay Magsaysay sa bayan ng Parang, Maguindanao ang mga nilipad at nasirang yero.

Ito'y matapos manalasa pasado alas tres kahapon  ang malakas na buhawi mula sa karagatan.

Ayon sa mga tindera ng isda sa talipapa, umabot ng kinse minuto na humambalos sa kanilang paligid ang malakas na hangin, nagkubli na lang sila at nanalangin.

Kasabay ng  paghambalos ng buhawi ay ang malakas na pag ulan.

Ang resulta, nangatuklap ang mga yero ng bahay at ng palengke, ang mga isda at gulay umano ay tumilapon.

Hindi din pinatawad na itumba ng buhawi ang mga poste ng kuryente na nagresulta ngayon sa pagkawala ng kanilang supply ng kuryente.

Bukod sa ilang mga kabahayan, nasira din ang ilang cottage ng mga resort at maging ang mga light materials ng paaralan.

Ayon naman sa barangay chairman ng lugar, mabuti na lang at umuulan ng malakas ng oras na iyon dahil kung hindi posibleng may matamaan sa mga taong nasa labas ng kani-kanilang bahay.

 “Mabuti na lang at malakas ang ulan noong oras na iyon dahil kung hindi baka tamaan ang mga batang nasa labas ng kalye ng mga lumipad na mga yero”, Ayon pa kay Barangay Chairman Rogelio Posadas.

Sa lungsod naman ng Koronadal, walong bahay din ang sinira ng buhawi sa Barangay Zone 3 noong huwebes habang nasa kasagsagan ng pagbuhos ng ulan.

Ayon sa mga disaster officials sa lugar abot sa 200,000 ang tantya sa mga kasiraang naidulot ng buhawi.# END

KALIVUNGAN FESTIVAL: IN THE KNOW

Kalivungan Festival of North Cotabato is a Manobo term for gathering.

On May 8, 1974, the first Kalivungan festival was held in Kidapawan City, then the province’s capital.

In 1984, the celebration was stopped.

Two years after, the lumad leaders of North Cotabato with the desire to continue the celebration of their rich culture and tradition has brought the celebration to Davao City, apparently finding a connection, an affinity with the indigenous peoples in Davao City, then headed by Mayor Zafiro Respicio.

 The efforts was done through the group Mindanao Highlanders Associations Inc. (Mindahila), then headed by Datu Joseph Sibug.

In Davao City, Kalivungan was called Apo Duwaling Festival, to pay homage to the Mt. Apo, durian, and waling-waling.

On May 11, 1995, Apo Duwaling Festival was changed to Kadayawan when Mayor Rodrigo Duterte signed Executive Order No. 10. In 1996, Kalivungan was brought back home to North Cotabato.

Last September 1^{st, 2014} , the province has culminated the 100th year founding anniversary celebrating memorable,  colorful culture, life, and history of the lumad people of the province as part of the lushness of the “Cotabato Empire”.

Centennial Governor Emmylou Talino-Mendoza said in her message they will continue to foster good relationship among the people and co-exist amid differences in religion, culture and beliefs of tri-people dwellers.

 “Amid diversity, man-made and natural calamities, limitations, sacrifices, the province remained strong — the people of the province have and will continue to be united in the face of all adversities and challenges,” Mendoza said. 

DENR-ARMM mobilizes LGU's on World Guiness record on most planted trees in an hour

Cotabato City--- Despite the lack to time and logistic preparations, still the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in ARMM together with its partners will be joining the challenge into setting a world record, mobilizing now the participation of Local Government Units (LGU’s).

Dubbed as “TreeVolution: Greening MindaNOW”, brokered by the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), they aim to beat India as the present world record holder of 1.94 million trees planted (by 340,200 people across 408 locations) in just an hour  in 2011.

On September 26^th, the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) together with its partner agencies in the government and private sector aims to plant 4,636,000 trees in multiple locations covering a total of 9,200 hectares in just one hour.

DENR-ARMM which has a decade-long partnership with Balik-Kalisakasan Advocacy Group (BKAG), a private and government organization, with the full support of 6^th division are coordinating widely now to local government units in Central Mindanao.

A meeting on September 3 is set in Camp Siongco, 6^th Division Camp in Datu Odin Sinsuat as part of grand preparation which seeks to convince Maguindanao LGU’s on the initiative that supports the National Greening Program aimed to harmonize the management of Mindanao’s natural resources.

“The meeting will identify the present land areas and locations the LGU’s and private sectors would suggest and that we will know also how many will be joining us”, DENR-ARMM Secretary Kahal Kedtag said.

 “We will be trying our very best to catch up with the Guinness requirement but nevertheless our intention and dedication that day is to greening the Mother Nature”, 6th Division Deputy Commander, Brig. Noli Orense also said.

Kedtag added they had enough seeds prepared in their nursery.That excludes the available 400,000 seedlings from Minrico compound nursery of BKAG, now ready for planting.

These seedlings are composed of Lanipao and Antipolo plants endemic in Maguindanao  is freely given to those groups and private individuals who are willing to plant trees.

The ARMM leadership has expressed oneness in this campaign as seen in the Facebook advisory of ARMM executive secretary Atty. Alaisa Alamia, “4 million trees on September 26 through the "TreeVolution: Greening MindaNOW." Join us!”, she posted.

Maguindanao province has also expressed to take part on this initiative, Governor Esmael Mangudadatu said among plants they will plant are rubber trees, palm oils and bamboos.

“These plants has multi- purpose, aside from helping greening the environment these will give livelihood income in the future and will serve flood mitigating trees in waterways of Liguasan marsh”, he said.#End.

SOLIDARITY PRAYER INIALAY NG MGA MUSLIM SA ARMM SA MGA BIKTIMA MALAYSIAN AIR CRASH AT SA MGA PALESTINO SA ATAKE NG ISRAEL

Cotabato City---Nagtipon-tipon para sa isang congregational prayer ang mga kawani at opisyal ng Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) para sa isang solidarity prayer para sa mga biktima ng  Malaysian Airline plane crash na naiulat na napabagsak sa pamamagitan ng rocket fire.

At panalangin din para sa mga kapatid na Palestinong Muslim sa Gaza  na ilang araw ng nasa gitna ng krisis matapos ang mga pambobomba ng bansang Israel kung saan mas maraming mga kabataan at sibilyan ang nadadamay.

Pinangunahan mismo ni ARMM Mujiv Hataman ang Jumaat congregational prayer. 

Di alintana ang matinding sikat ng araw sa tanghali sa harap mismo ng ARMM compound.

Ayon sa gobernador, mas higit ngayon na kailangan ang panalangin sa dinaranas na paghihirap ng mga naulila sa plane crash.

At maging sa mga Palestinong nagsilikas na dahil sa isinagasawang ground assault ng mga sundalo ng Israel.

Nakapanlulumo umano ang mga sitwasyong dinaranas ng mga kapatid na Muslim sa Gaza, na dapat naman daw sana ay nag-ooberba ng Ramadhan na may kapayapaan at paglilinis sa sarili.

Napapanahon  at mahalagang araw umano ngayon ang solidarity prayer dahil nataon sa araw ng pagsamba at pag-aayuno ng sambayanang Islam sa buwan ng ramadhan.
